The important first step is to identify what will be measured. A score is useful only when it belongs to the same event and period named by the selection.
This page explains game formats and rules; it is not a playable lobby. Check the relevant service for current game availability and the exact version in use.

A cricket scorecard reports runs, wickets and overs. In a chase, 73/3 after 12 overs means the batting side has 73 runs and has lost three wickets; it is not the final match score. An innings-runs selection, a next-wicket selection and a match-winner selection can all refer to that same match while requiring different events to settle.
For example, suppose a side has a winning target of 144 and stands at 73/3 after 12 overs. The remaining target is 71 runs, but this alone says nothing about a match-winner payout. The number of balls left, wickets, any revised target and the settlement rules matter. A live display can move quickly; the selection details are more important than a remembered price.
A series result counts maps won by each side. An individual map result concerns one part of that series. In a best-of-three match, a team could lose map one and still win the series by taking maps two and three. Conversely, winning the first map does not settle a series-winner selection. Read the game title, map number and event identifier together.
Some esports games also show round scores inside a map. Those round numbers should not be read as maps won. If the page states an outcome but omits its unit, open the market description before deciding what it means.
Virtual sports replace human play with a simulated event. A replay, an upcoming fixture and a final result can appear close together, so match the fixture number and scheduled event before reading a result. Unlike a live cricket chase, a prior virtual score does not represent a team carrying form into the next simulation.
The general distinction between match, series and fixture scope applies here too. A selection should name both an outcome and the event that will settle it. That is more informative than trying to infer an outcome from nearby scores.
Read the sport, event identifier, period, selected outcome and displayed terms in one pass. If a cricket match is affected by interruption, or an esports series uses a format you do not recognize, check the settlement wording. Spending and time limits are useful because no reading method removes the possibility of a loss.
No. It means 73 runs for three wickets after 12 overs. The target, balls remaining, wickets and any revised target determine the match state; the eventual winner is still unresolved.
Map winner covers one game in a series. Series winner covers the overall result, so a side may lose one map and still win a best-of-three series.
No. A virtual fixture is a distinct simulated event. Identify its fixture number and rules; past results do not reliably forecast a new simulation.
